Fund Raising can by fun and easy. Here are just a few ideas. Garage
sales, rummage sales and/or a yard sale

February and March are two of the most successful months for these
events. Why not start planning one now. Very few people hold a sale
like this until May or June. If you hold one early, the shoppers
will come out in groves! Bake sales, Cookie sales are a fun and
classic way to raise funds.

Most stores will let you set up a table out side their front door
if your sale is a for a fund raiser. Silent Auctions can raise a
lot of money in a very short time

Why not see if you can hold on at your church or in a civic
building **
BAKE SALE Most grocery stores will allow you to set up a
table in front of their store and sell your own baked goods. Call
ahead and talk to the store manager for permission.
SILENT AUCTION Silent Auctions are a great way to raise a
lot of money fast. Have several items donated from local businesses
in trade for listing them as a sponsor and check with family and
friends for new items they have purchased and are not using or
items that are in 'like new' condition.
PIZZA PARTY Check out your local Pizza Parlor to see if they
have a program in place to help you fundraise. Many Pizza Parlors
will donate up to 20% of the profits generated on a special
night.
SPAGHETTI FEED Grab a few friends together and plan a
Spaghetti feed. Often times you can have some of the items donated
for the meal from your local grocery store. Stop by the store and
ask to speak to the manager, explain what you are doing and ask if
they would like to sponser part of the meal. A great place to hold
the Spaghetti feed is your local church or grange. Sell tickets in
advance (average cost is $5.00-$7.00)
CAR WASH Find a group of at least 5 friends and a local gas
station that is willing to let you hold a "Car Wash" on their
property using their water. You bring the buckets, sponges and
soap. Ask for donations and you will normally raise more money than
asking for a set amount for vehicle.
PIZZA PARTY Check out your local Pizza Parlor and see if
they have a program in place to help raise money. Here is an
example of a local Pizza Parlor that helps give back to its
community by helping their customers raise money.
DONATION JAR Take a nice clean jar and place a sign on the
front requesting donations, (place a sign about Rising Star
Outreach on the jar or near by) Place one, two or more jars at
local stores near you. Check back once a week to collect the funds.
Maybe you know someone who owns a store that would allow you to do
this, or simply ask the store manager.
** Raffles are not legal in all 50 states, so please check
with your local gaming authority before you hold any type of raffel
or avoid them entirely**
CAUTION: Please do not go 'door to door' to solicit donations.
