Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune response attacks a person's central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), leading to loss to their nerves. Disease onset usually occurs in young adults, and it is more common in females. MS affects the ability of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate with each other. Because of that, you cannot control a lot of things. Like, your eyes involuntarily move or twitch, your senses change, depression occurs, fatigue, chronic pain, slurred speech, problems swallowing, muscle weakness (many people with the disease need a wheelchair or cane), difficulties with balance, and many other hard to deal with factors. Scientists haven't figured out what causes MS, nor do they have a cure.
